Third time lucky for coach Jacobs?
Since the second World War, only two coaches have lasted more than three seasons at Anderlecht: Scot Bill Gormlie from 1950 to 1960, with five titles and Frenchman Pierre Sinibaldi, from 1960 to 1966 winning four titles.
Generally, the third season has been fatal to the Anderlecht coach. But the third season of Ariel Jacobs is probably even more delightful since he has every chance to finally be a champion.
To be quite precise, he became the head trainer of the Mauves on November 12, 2007. That means he will celebrate three years of "power" in nine months, hopefully ... And he will be the first Belgian to beat the "record" and to stay more than three years, as well as giving the purple and white its first title since 2007.
