Anderlecht gave away a 0-2 lead yesterday against Bruges. The match ended on a 2-2 draw. Both teams dominated one half of the match. The gap with Bruges remains at 5 points. Standard follows at 6 points.

Anderlecht played the perfect first half. They were dominant, put high pressure on the home team and had a lot of ball possession. The Brugians were not able to keep the ball in the team and barely showed up in front of Proto. When Praet recovered the ball on the midfield after 15 minutes of play, he opened for Defour. The Belgian international placed the ball perfectly into the bottom left corner of the goal from about 25 meter distance: 0-1.

Anderlecht kept on pushing forward and not much later the scoreline was doubled. Praet made it to the goal line and delivered the perfect center for Mitrovic who headed the ball against the net: 0-2. Short before the end of the first half, Acheampong was close on scoring the 0-3 but his effort missed the goal for a few centimeters.

Bruges showed a lot of fighting spirit at the start of the second half. This resulted in a free kick just outside the box. Proto managed to save the free kick and the rebound, but Jorgensen was offered a third attempt and he scored: 1-2. Anderlecht got a mental blow by this goal and the Brugians started looking for the equaliser. They collected a handful of excellent opportunities and on a corner kick the 2-2 was scored by Engels.

Anderlecht tried to be dangerous on the counter attack, but without Defour (replaced a few minutes before the equaliser because of a light injury) the midfield was a lot less dominant. When Castillo got a second yellow a few minutes before the end, the visitors tried once more to take the three points, but in vain...
