Anderlechtplayer Mbark Boussoufa has been questioned by the police past Sunday. The cause was an identity check in a tearoom. It happened in the afternoon near the railway station of Brussels-South.
Boussoufa went out for a drink with some friends, when the police arrived to check the identity of everyone present. Anderlecht’s midfielder however didn’t have his ID with him, he left it in his car. After that an officer shouted at him violently before putting him on the ground and handcuffing him. Afterwards Mbark spend a couple of hours at the police station.
Boussoufa confirmed the facts to RTL-TVI and said, still impressed by what happened, that it was a clear case of racism. The police would have invaded the tearoom because of a drugs-case. Mbark won’t react officially the next few days. The mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans, has already announced to carefully investigate what has happened.
