Stupid penalty foul decides over leadership

GAMES The match against AA Ghent and RSC Anderlecht ended on a 1-1 tie, which means Anderlecht climbs next to Club Bruges to the top of the Jupiler Pro League. AA Ghent are coming one point closer, which means there is still a three-point-gap.

Ghent had to start the match without Boussoufa, who fell out during the warming-up. The first half was very poor, with only few chances. A 0-0 tie was a logical score at half time.

The second half started off with a good chance for AA Ghent. Milicevic hit the post with a header. After about an hour, Anderlecht opened the score. Kara with the header, Sels tried to smother the ball but Nuytinck scored in the rebound. Things looked great for Anderlecht at that time.

However, five minutes later Frank Acheampong made an unnecessary foul in the penalty area. Saief scored the penalty kick, and the match ended on a 1-1 draw.
