OTHER Nils De Wilde will no longer play for the RSCA Futures next season. Via Instagram, the 20-year-old midfielder announced today that he is leaving the club. "I was able to fulfill my dream here," De Wilde wrote in his farewell message.
De Wilde played 27 games for the RSCA Futures last season. Sixteen times he was a base player and 11 substitutes. He scored once, on 13 February in the decisive match at Deinze that took the Futures into the Champions Play-offs.
So now it is time for something else. "After eight seasons, from the age of 12, at this fantastic club, I have decided to take a new step in my career," De Wilde wrote. "I have experienced difficult but, most certainly also very beautiful moments together with you. I was able to fulfil my dream of signing my first professional contract and making my debut in the Challenger Pro League."
"I want to thank everyone who contributed to achieving this goal. Thank you to the club, coaches, staff, teammates, supporters, schools, host family Paul and Wanda, boarding school and my family for making me the person I am today."
Where De Wilde will start next season is not yet known.
