Official: Anderlecht says goodbye to Gillet

OTHER Guillaume Gillet is no longer at Anderlecht. Purple-White will bid farewell to the RSCA Futures coach after one season.


Gillet originally combined his work on the first team staff with that of the Futures under Veldman. But after Mazzu's dismissal, pawns were rearranged and Gillet was put in charge of the RSCA Futures. In the end, Gillet led the Futures to sixth place in the final standings. Moreover, he had to miss several players who were brought to the A-core, such as Verbruggen.

Gillet played more than 300 games for Anderlecht from 2008 to 2016 in which he scored 45 times. In the 2011 - 2012 season, he scored the decisive goal from the spot in extra time in the match against Club Brugge which made Anderlecht champions. That was one of Gillet's four titles with Purple and White.
