Will Kevin Mac Allister be the new right back?

TRANSFERS Argentinian journalist César Luis Merlo reports on Twitter that a Belgian club will activate the $1.5 million purchase clause in Kevin Mac Allister's contract. Which club is involved is not mentioned, but we dare not rule out Anderlecht.


Anderlecht is currently actively scouting for reinforcements in Argentina (see Luis Vasquez and Santiago Hezze). Moreover, Anderlecht is also looking for a right back. And price-quality-wise, Kevin Mac Allister is a very interesting player. For these reasons, it would not surprise us should the Belgian club under discussion be Anderlecht and we bring this here. But again: it has not been confirmed anywhere that it would indeed be Anderlecht.

Kevin Mac Allister has been a fixture in Argentinos Juniors' defence for three years. In March, he extended his contract until 31 December 2024, but that deal would include a clause that he may leave if a club puts $1.5 million (€1.37 million) on the table. An interesting amount to considering his current market value is estimated at 3.2 million euros.

Whether it is Anderlecht or another Belgian club, we may soon know.
