Fredberg: "Building team we can be proud of"

INTERVIEWS Anderlecht's transfer period is not yet running smoothly. Purple-White did not acquire any newcomers yet, but that does not seem to worry CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg. "I promise you that there will be new players," he told Het Nieuwsblad. "When the league starts, there will be new players rotating in."


Fredberg spoke to the newspaper following the calendar presentation. So he also talked about reinforcements. "We have to build a team we can be proud of," Fredberg said. "We only commit a newcomer if we are convinced he is better than what we already have in our squad."

Fredberg says the ambition is not to change everything. He wants to keep the good things. "Anderlecht will be ready when the league starts. There is no doubt about that."

An extended stay for Islam Slimani is also still a possibility. "He is still an option," Fredberg said. "We are in contact with his entourage. We'll see."
