Two muscle tears for Murillo

INJURIES Amir Murillo will be sidelined for several weeks or even months. The Panamanian Football Federation reports that the right-back has suffered a large muscle tear in the thigh and a smaller one in the hamstrings. Murillo will soon return to Belgium where Anderlecht will examine him further.


These injuries greatly reduce the chances of a transfer. With Louis Patris, Anderlecht has already secured a replacement for Murillo. The OH Leuven right-back will undergo medical tests today and then sign a five-year contract.

At the Gold Cup, Panama will play the quarter-final against Qatar on Sunday without Murillo.
