TRANSFERS The tenth incoming transfer from Anderlecht is a fact. The experienced Danish midfielder Thomas Delaney (31) comes over on a rental basis from FC Sevilla. Delaney has played 71 times for Denmark and has already played in two World Cups.

Delaney made his breakthrough at FC Copenhagen and during his time at the Danish top club he had both Ariel Jacobs and Brian Riemer as trainers. Delaney then moved to Germany where he moved to Borussia Dortmund after a year in Bremen. After three seasons it went to Seville, although he was rented out to Hoffenheim last year. Delaney played for Denmark at the 2020 European Championship and at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Although this has not been officially communicated, transfer specialist Sacha Tavolieri says that a two-year contract was negotiated with Delaney in case Anderlecht exercise the purchase option at the end of this season.

CEO Fredberg: "He has leadership qualities, has experience at a very high international level and he can help us find the right formula in midfield."

Thomas Delaney: “I am honored to represent this club. I have known Anderlecht for a long time and I still had both Ariel Jacobs and Brian Riemer as coaches at FC Copenhagen."
