INTERVIEWS On the same day as his loan spell was officially completed, Marco Kana was already allowed to make his debut for his new club KV Kortrijk. Against OH Leuven, he was allowed to step in after 57 minutes. Kortrijk lost 3-0. "But the season is still long," Kana sounded optimistic afterwards.

In Het Nieuwsblad, Kana tells that he was already in contact with KVK coach Edward Still before his transfer. The latter told him that he would be in the squad, even though he was not yet training. "So mentally I was prepared for the match," says Kana.

With 1 in 18, KVK are last. Many observers see them as relegation candidate number one. Kana is more optimistic. "I see quality in this team. That's why I made this switch. Other clubs also showed interest, but I came here for a project and for playing minutes."

Against OHL, Kana filled in as a defender, but the Anderlecht player says he did go to Kortrijk as a defensive midfielder. "The six is my best position. That's also how I came. However, because of the match situation, I had to play as a defender now."
