INTERVIEWS After the victory against KV Mechelen, Anderlecht has nestled themselves firmly in the front ranks of the standings. After the match, coach Brian Riemer was asked if Anderlecht is now a title contender. "Our vision is still the same as at the beginning of the season," was his answer.

"Whether we aspire to the national title? We keep looking at it match by match and want to confirm week by week," Riemer said afterwards in front of DAZN's microphone. "First and foremost, we want to finish in the top six."

"That we are now (after the game against Mechelen, meanwhile Union is well on its way to tip over Anderlecht again, ed.) first is really fantastic. We had a very good evening with a strong performance from the team. We played well, especially before halftime. We could have had more than one goal lead. We really had a lot of chances."

If Anderlecht had been a little more efficient before halftime, it would have been less stressful after the break. "At the beginning of the second half, Mechelen was better," Riemer admitted. "But it's hard to keep that pressure on for a whole game."
