GAMES Saturday we could get acquainted with the new lighting of the Lotto Park. 500,00 euros invested purple-white, but the result is great. The new light installation was inaugurated with a beautiful light show, but there will not be such a show every time. After all, this one has an additional price tag.

Over the past few weeks, Anderlecht removed 200 old lamps in the Lotto Park. These still ran on diesel, which was not environmentally friendly. In their place modern LED lamps. These are much more economical. "At full power during a match, consumption is more than 30 percent lower than before," Anderlecht informs. "Moreover, we can adjust the brightness according to additional elements before and after the match and to duels that take place during the day."

Het Laatste Nieuws knows that Anderlecht invested 500,000 euros in the new lighting. A total of 300 new lights were installed. These operate entirely on solar panels located on top of the stadium's roof.

"Light show only for special occasions"

The new lighting offers a lot of possibilities, but for a show like Saturday, additional equipment was cited. "We combined the permanent LED lighting with additional mobile light installations, purple blacklights and fireworks to create an even greater effect," CEO Non Sports Kenneth Bornauw told Het Laatste Nieuws. According to the newspaper, these extras had a value of 250,000 euros.

"For special occasions, as Saturday was certainly one, this can be done. But not every week, otherwise it would become an expensive joke," said Bornauw, who makes the case that there are also a lot of possibilities with the regular, permanent new LED lights.
