Riemer: "Hazard and Dreyer can also play in midfield"

INTERVIEWS Thomas Delaney is fit again, so the question arises whether he will resume his starting place on Sunday and at whose expense. Brian Riemer, of course, was asked about this at his press conference. "We are not going to put Delaney just because he is Delaney," he said.


"When I make a lineup, I look at three things: the performance of the player, the tactics we will play and how the other players are performing," Riemer said. "Right now we have players who are performing very well. Then my job is to see what I see as the right combination in midfield against a team like Cercle Brugge. Are there reasons to change or not? We will not bring Delaney just because he is Delaney. If we draft him, it will be because we think that is the right decision for the team."

"We have many options. In my vision, Thorgan Hazard and Anders Dreyer are also players who can play in our midfield system without problems. That would create space for other wingers. So there are some question marks about the lineup at the moment."
