Injury Jan Vertonghen does not appear to be too serious

INJURIES Jan Vertonghen went under the scanner to have the damage measured on his left ankle. That damage did not appear to be too bad and the captain did not suffer a serious injury. However, it remains uncertain whether he will be able to play on Sunday against Gent.


It is also uncertain at the moment whether Vertonghen will play with the Red Devils in the practice match against Serbia and in the final qualifying match against soccer giant Azerbaijan. Sooner or later, the Devils will have to say goodbye to the record international and these matches could be a test in that regard.

At Anderlecht, they are preparing a scenario for Gent without Vertonghen. Sardella can play centrally and then Patris will take his place (if he is fit, as he was missing from the team at Cercle). Consideration is also being given to possibly moving Diawara one row to the back.
