Juventus are trying to land Kompany. Also Chelsea and Manchester United are interested, but the Italian side are the closest to a deal. Coach Vercauteren already admitted Kompany is likely to leave at the end of the season.
Vercauteren said: "I can't see Vincent staying with us for another year. He's a young player, strong and ambitious. He's now mature enough to do well at any team he decides to join."
Juve director general Luciano Moggi met with Kompany's agent in the summer to discuss a move to Turin. Moggi was willing to offer 6 million euro plus one of Igor Tudor or Marcelo Zalayeta at the time, but Kompany wanted to stay in Belgium to finish his education.
Moggi is now ready to try again and is also in talks with Palermo about taking Kompany on-loan for next season.
