Anderlecht is thinking of the Panamanian striker Blas Pérez as a possible alternative for François Sterchele. Pérez is currently playing for Cúcuta Deportivo in Colombia.
The 26-year old has scored about 15 to 20 goals each season and thinks the time is ripe to move to Europe. According to his manager, the player won't go to a topteam right away, but to a more modest one.
According to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, manager Van Holsbeeck was planning on travelling to Colombia, but would now bide his time. If Anderlecht wants to attract the player it will have to find an agreement with two clubs. Pérez is namely owned by both Deportivo Cali and Arabe Unido. The striker would have to cost 2 million euro.
