Anderlecht have beaten STVV tonight with 3-0. The Mauves made the difference in the second half. Because of this victory, Anderlecht stay in second position on one point of Standard. Brugge are already 6 points behind.
The first half was rather boring without any of both teams creating chances. Anderlecht played at a low pace and weren't able of finding a solution on STVV's well organised defence: 0-0 at half time.

Continue reading In the second half, the Mauves immediatly tried to score the opener. Jestrovic and Mpenza got a few good chances, but Belic saved the efforts. After almost 70 minutes of play, it was Jestrovic who brought Anderlecht one up. A bit later, Mpenza even doubled the score with a nice strike in the from right outside the box. Walter Baseggio made the most beautiful goal of the evening with a shot from distance that went in via the upright.
