The Czech Republic lost its second match against Portugal on Euro2008 1-3. The Portuguese had a great start and after 8 minutes Deco opened score with a messy goal.

The Czech players responded rapidly and not much later the match was again balanced by a goal of Sionko.

The first half ended with a 1-1 score. In the second half both teams were a match for each other. But in the 63rd minute Cristiano Ronaldo scored with a powerful shot: 1-2. The Czech Republic didn’t have anything left to respond to this sudden goal and on top of that, Quaresma secured the Portuguese victory.

Jan Polak played 90 minutes. After a foul on Pepe, Jan took a yellow card during the first half. Stanislav Vlcek was the substitute for Matejovksy in the 68th minute and his entry almost paid dividends. The striker wasn’t able to reach a ball played by Plasil, which could have been a fine goal. Daniel Zitka again remained on the bench.
