Arnold Kruiswijk signed for Anderlecht in februari. The 23-year old defender came over from Dutch club Groningen, where he was captain. "Het Nieuwsblad" had an interview with him.

"I was also followed by several Dutch clubs, but Anderlecht was the club that made me feel like they wanted me the most", says Kruiswijk. "I'm happy with my choice, these first few weeks are going really well. I have good contact with everyone, but especially with Davy Schollen, who is guiding me a little, just like the technical staff".

"Before I signed here, I knew Bart Goor from his Feyenoord-period, and also Boussoufa and Frutos. I have seen all the other players at work by now, and I know what I can expect".

The competition for the 2 spots in the defence will be fierce. "My goal is the same as for every player: I want to obtain a place in the first eleven. But I'm young and have everything to prove. I'm a defender that can play footbal, that's typicaly Dutch. All the teams there try to build up their play from the back".
