Marcin Wasilewski was sent home quick from the EK 2008 with Poland. In Anderlecht he will find a new rightback with Rnic, but Wasilewski is clear: "I want to hold my place in the first eleven".

Marcin was dissapointed with the results of Poland on the EK. "But I was happy with my personnal performences. I was contacted by another club, but it never got concrete, so I didn't lose my sleep for it. I'm feeling good in Belgium right now. When I say I dream of England, you (the journalists) immideatly write that I want to leave Anderlecht."

The Polish rightback isn't afraid to compete with newcommer Rnic. "In januari, I got to play instead of Gillet. It's normal that Anderlecht gets new players to compete, but I want to maintain my place in the first eleven, it's the only way to maitain my place in the Polish national team".

Last season, wasilewski was booked 14 times. "I try to play more soffisticated footbal, but I will never lose my style. I also want to point out that I never got a red card, al those cards were yellow. I got those cards by helping the team".

For the first time, all the players will have to speak French. This means certain players will have to follow French lessons. Marcin is in Belgium for 18 months now, but only speaks a couple of French words. This means other players constantly have to translate for him. "They didn't tell me anything about French lessons, and to be honnest, I dont know if I have time for that. I have just become father for the 2nd time, and I would like to spend as much time as possible with my family".
