Anderlecht could not win its first home game of the season. Two early goals by Vlcek and Gillet put Anderlecht ahead, but Ljubijankic and Suler brought Ghent level before the break.
Anderlecht got a headstart when sole striker Stanislav Vlcek was able to slide in a center by Legear. The home-team doubled the lead 20 minutes into the game when Ghent defender Duarte botched a pass to his goalie. Gillet, ex-Ghent, was able to pick up the ball and put it past Jorgacevic. It was a lively Legear who could’ve put Anderlecht 3-0 ahead. The speedy winger got past his marker and rushed toward the goal only to clumsily spill the ball.

Continue reading It was then AA Ghent’s time to shine. First, Ljubijankic beat Van Damme to head the ball past Zitka. Then, just before the break, Suler headed in the equaliser on a corner.
Anderlecht coach Ariël Jacobs brought in Iakovenko for Vlcek at the start of the second half. The Ukranian youngster almost proved his worth when he came close to putting Anderlecht ahead, but twice Jorgacevic saved his effort.
It was again Iakovenko who forced Suler to a foul. However, the resulting red card for the Ghent defender and the late input of Chatelle and Losada did not help Anderlecht to keep the 3 points at home.
