Anderlecht recovered well from last week's 4-0 defeat against Zulte-Waregem, giving KV Mechelen a 7-1 beating with returning Argentinian striker Nicolas Frutos scored three goals.

Nicolas Frutos claimed the spotlight in last night's game against KV Mechelen. The Argentinian striker celebrated his first starting appearance of the season with three goals.

However it was the visitors, who opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game. Ivens recovered the ball and surprised Daniël Zitka with a lifted ball from 35 yards out. The advantage of KV Mechelen did not last long, for within a minute a Boussoufa cross found Vlcek. The Czech had no trouble in putting the ball past the opposing keeper Renard.

The goal gave Anderlecht the much-needed confidence and in a mere 7 minutes the hometeam knocked the visitors on their backs. Frutos' return proved fundamental, scoring twice and delivering the assist for Mbark Boussoufa's goal.

The Mauves continued their form in the second half: The Argentinian striker knocked in his third goal of the season, while Gillet and substitute Bulykin heightened the blow for Mechelen by making the score 7-1.
