Anderlecht defeated Roeselare tonight and will certainly finish 2008 on the 1st position. Thanks to the 1-4 victory of Standard vs. Brugge, the Mauves now have 4 points more than those two clubs, with only one game left to play.
Anderlecht didn't play a good game against a well organised Roeselare, ranked last. There weren't many chances in the first half. Rnic scored the 1-0, but the goal was refused by the referee. Further, there were two unseen penalty cases, one on each side. The most important event of the first half was the red card for Roeselare goalkeeper Sierens after he tackled Boussoufa, who was through on goal, outside the box.
The second half wasn't much better. Again the referee denied Anderlecht a goal, but a bit later Legear opened the score for the visitors with a nice goal. Polak then doubled the lead on a center of Legear. And Goor, who had replaced Polak, made the final goal of the game: 0-3.
