Anderlecht defeated Racing Genk tonight with 2-0. Gillet and Legear scored the goals for the home side. For Bart Goor it was the last game for the Mauves. Kanu played his first minutes in the league and performed extremely well.

The Mauves were clearly the best team throughout the whole game. Genk only had a few small chances, while the home side could have scored more.

Bulykin and Polak had the best chances in the first half, but it was Gillet who opened the score with a shot in the bottom corner from outside the box.

The second half brought more chances for the home team, but the second goal only fell in stoppage time, when Legear put the ball against the nets after a nice action of Kanu.
