Anderlecht defeated Mons tonight, but the home side had some fortune. After overcoming a 0-2, the Mauves were also very lucky when Mons missed a penalty in the last minute, when Anderlecht were already leading 3-2.

The first half was probably one of the worst ones in Anderlecht's history: not a single chance and 2 goals for the visitors. Though one minute before the break, defender Bernadez suddenly scored the first goal for the home side with a deflected ball.

The second half was a lot better. The Mauves immediately attacked. It wasn't long before De Sutter could score. It was his first goal for Anderlecht.

The Brussels' team had several other good chances, but the winning goal fell only 9 minutes before time, when Juhasz scored the rebound of De Sutter's effort that had hit the post: 3-2. Though one minute before time, Anderlecht escaped when Mons missed a penalty.
