Anderlecht took the first place again, along side of Standard. The Mauves won with 1-0 thanks to a goal of De Sutter early in the second half. Anderlecht never came into trouble and should have scored more than one goal.

Both teams started well, but it was Anderlecht that soon took control over the game. The visitors also had the best chances, but Westerlo goalkeeper Yves De Winter kept the nill on the scoreboard for his team.

After the break, Anderlecht put even more pressure on Westerlo and could soon score. Boussoufa, playing a weak game, gave a good center and Tom De Sutter headed the ball against the net: 0-1. Anderlecht, encouraged by the lead, kept on creating many more chances, but they never managed to score again. This allowed Westerlo to search for the equaliser, but the Anderlecht defense easily eliminated the danger.
