Many Anderlecht players and staff members were disappointed after the game against Standard. Here are some reactions after the loss of the title to the rivals from Liège.

Ariel Jacobs: "This is bitter. If you end the league with 77 points and you don't have the title, then you can only be disappointed. We played a good game in Liège. But that penalty for Standard, after a phase in which nothing happened, decided the whole season."

Also Tom De Sutter was not happy with the referee: "It would have been a lot easier if we had gotten a present in the form of a penalty. We believed in it until the end. We were the better team, but what are you going to do about it?"

Deschacht: "The referee always saw something wrong when we had the ball. I got yellow after five minutes already. But Mulemo was allowed to kick and punch and continue playing."

Legear was the only one who didn't blame the referee: "We played bad in Anderlecht last Thursday. And we also lost points in the important game against Tubize..."

Vanden Stock: "We should have been champions already. We lost it in Tubize. Though I must add: it wasn't penalty at all yesterday!"

Van Holsbeeck: "We have to learn from this unfortunate event. Standard did well the last two seasons and they did it with their own youth players. We need to make the same investment, or we'll fall behind. It's true that we sometimes let our talented players leave too soon. It has to change."
