In Belgium, and then especially at the top clubs here, no transfers have been made yet. Herman Van Holsbeeck says this is a global phenomenon.

"Besides the 69 million euros Real Madrid spend on Kaka, few transfers have been done yet,” says the manager in Gazet van Antwerpen. "Belgian top clubs are not alone as you can see. All clubs think twice now…”

The question is why smaller clubs did more transfers than other ones? “That’s simple,” Van Holsbeeck explains. “When we want a player, the price is three times higher. Some things are concrete, but I won’t say who it concerns.”

"Anderlecht’s strategy is clear. If one player like Boussoufa, Biglia or Polak leaves, we’ll have to replace him. But until now it hasn’t been the case yet. So we only look for special transfers. Here in Belgium I think transfers will start late, August I guess.”
