Belgium has suffered a heavy defeat against Spain and is therefore almost certainly eliminated for the World Cup. The final score was 5-0 for Spain, with both Silva and Villa scoring tow goals. Piqué scored the other one.

In the first half, goalkeeper Gillet kept Spain from scoring for about 40 minutes. He even stopped a penalty. But a few minutes before half-time, Silva opened the score. In the second half, the Belgians took four more goals without creating any chances themselves.

Deschacht, who replaced Vertonghen, was the only Anderlecht player who came into action.
