Attempt to bribe in EL-group Anderlecht

Dan Alexa, the captain of FC Timisoara, says he has been approached to lose the game against Dinamo Zagrem in the Europe League. Alexa refused and immediately told his club what happened.

"I felt insulted and told it to president Marian Iancu,” Alexa says. “They offered me € 500.000.” The person who would have approached Alexa would be a former Rumanian referee who is connected to the mafia. Meanwhile the UEFA has been informed as well and they are doing research whether or not it has to be investigated.

Although Alexa wouldn’t let him be bribed, Timisoara lost with 0-3 from Dinamo Zagreb. On 22 October and 5 November, Timisoara is the next opponent of Anderlecht in the Europe League.
