There is finally some good news about the new stadium. Belgium's governments came to an agreement to build several new stadiums. One of them, will be a new national stadium in Brussels, located at the Heysel.

It will have a capacity between 65.000 and 70.000 seats. Anderlecht announced it is prepared to play in the stadium.

Prime minister Herman Van Rompuy, an Anderlecht fan, forced the decision. Though it's not yet sure whether the new stadium will replace the current Heysel stadium, or that there will be a new one on parking lot C. The final decision follows later this year.

For Anderlecht, it's good news. The club was working on plans to enlarge the current Vanden Stock Stadium. But the new football temple will have to be constructed before 2018, so it's likely the Brussels' club will cancel their own plans and wait for their new home. The only issue that is still plaguing Anderlecht is the construction of a running track around the football field.
