Anderlecht remain on top of Group A of the Europa League after a 3-1 home win over Timisoara. Suarez opened the scoring from a penalty kick, whilst Boussoufa scored RSCA's 500th European goal. Legear finished off the scoring.

Anderlecht cast aside its poor European home record, winning for the first time in six games, whilst continuing Timisoara's winless record in Europe. Subject to Dinamo Zagreb's appeal for its points deduction, Anderlecht and Ajax have qualified to the Round of 32 of the Europa League.

It took Anderlecht 29 minutes to open the scoring for the game to come to life.
Defender Florin Maxim brought down Suarez in the area, and the Argentine converted from the spot, showing signs of a return to goal scoring form.

All Timisoara had to show for their efforts in the first half was a long-range effort from Alexandru Bourceanu which flew over the bar, but they were soon surprisingly back on level terms just five minutes into the second period. Karamyan's corner found Winston Parks, who outstepped and outjummped Deschacht and he headed home beyond Silvio Proto.

Anderlecht eventually regrouped and retook the lead after 68 minutes. Substitute Jonathan Legear crossed from the right and Boussoufa powered a diving header into the bottom corner. Buoyed by getting back in front, Anderlecht went in search of a third goal to kill off the tie and Romelu Lukaku's shot from 20 yards was saved by Costel Pantilimon.

Timisoara faced a series of corners late on but were unable to find an equaliser and, deep into injury time, Legear chipped from 12 yards to complete the a wonderful run and secure three points for Anderlecht.
