Anderlecht and Gent shared the points this evening. The final score was 2-2. Anderlecht returned from 2-0, first through Legear and finally De Sutter equalised two minutes before time.
The game took a bad start for Anderlecht when Maric opened the score on a free kick after only six minutes. The Mauves tried to take control and had a few good chances. A header of Van Damme was stopped before (or behind??) the line by goalkeeper Jorgacevic. Legear, Kouyaté and Boussoufa also had a few efforts on goal. Gent lurked on the counter attack.
In the second half, Coulibaly quickly doubles Gent's lead on a free kick. The home team had control over the game, until trainer Jacobs made a double substitution, bringing Frutos and De Sutter into play for defender Deschacht and Lukaku. The home defence was clearly confused and Legear benefited by scoring. Anderlecht kept looking for the equaliser and Jacobs brought more offensive power into play with Kanu. A few minutes before time, Kanu dribbled the home defence, centered and De Sutter scored with a volley: 2-2. In stoppage time, a header of the home team was dangerous, but the score remained unchanged.
Ten minutes before the end, Biglia had to be taken to the hospital. He seriously injured his ankle and calf after a harsh tackle.
