Anderlecht to humiliate Standard: 4-0

Anderlecht humiliated Standard with a 4-nil demolition. Legear and Lukaku scored for Anderlecht, the other two being own-goals. Witsel got red again with another terrifying tackle. Standard are now 20 points behind Anderlecht.


Standard had the first chance of the game, but it was Anderlecht that opened the score a few minutes later. Lukaku dribbled past Mangala and centered. Van Damme's header was saved by Bolat, but Legear pushed the ball against the net in the rebound: 0-1.

Anderlecht proved to be better and held the game under control. Standard could only create a few small chances. Kouyaté had the best chance to double the lead, but Bolat saved with an excellent reflex.

Axel Witsel, who broke Wasilewski's leg during the game in Brussels a few months ago, was again sent off once again, initiating a dangerous tackle once more. This time, victim Juhasz escaped without serious injuries.

A 10 men Standard made it to the pause with 0-1 on the scoreboard, but early in the second half Lukaku scored: 0-2. Standard totally collapsed and escaped worse until Troaré beat his own keeper with a header while he tried to keep Juhasz from the ball: 0-3. Two minutes later, Mangala defeated his own keeper while trying to intercept a pass: 0-4. Boussoufa missed an open chance in the end to make it 0-5. Nevertheless it was a massive victory over the defending champions and fierce rivals
