Mbark Boussoufa has been elected best African player for the third time. The ebony shoe is a trophy for the best African player in the Belgian league.

It’s the second time in a row he gets this trophy. He also got it in 2006, when he played for AA Gent. Boussoufa is the first player who wins this trophy three times.

Romelu Lukaku was the top favourite, but he ended second. “I’m a year too late,” Lukaku said, “ last year the shoe was given by my big idol; Didier Drogba.”
