Anderlecht to beat The New Saints: 1-3

Anderlecht secured the qualification for the next round of the Champions League. The Mauves defeated The New Saints from Wales in the first leg with 1-3. It's unlikely the Belgian champions will give the victory away next week.


Anderlecht took a fabulous start and created several chances in the first minutes. After Deschacht hit the crossbar in the fifth minute, newcommer Kljestan scored one minute later. About ten minutes later, Legear doubled the lead with a nice goal.

After the second goal and especially after the break, the Belgian champions dropped the pace. The Welsh side managed to pull one back after loss of concentration in the Brussels' defence. Trainer Jacobs was furious, but Anderlecht restored their dominance and Suarez scored the 1-3.
