The Belgian first division will return to its old format next season: 18 clubs and no play-offs. That was the outcome of the vote that took place today. 12 clubs votes for a return, 4 clubs hoped to keep the play-offs.

Anderlecht, Gent, Genk and Club Brugge are happy with the play-offs, but lost the vote. They are now looking which further steps they can take. It's possible they'll sell their TV rights seperately from the other clubs. That way, they can keep more of the money.
