Sporting Anderlecht couldn't beat Lokeren on Sunday night. The visitors, down to ten men for about one hour, kept the nill in Brussels. That way, Racing Genk took over the lead again.

The Mauves started better than Lokeren. They created a serile pressure and kept the ball in the team. Though the fans had to wait for a while before seeing the first real effort on goal: Copa saved Boussoufa's free kick. Also Kanu and Legear had good chances, but they aimed too high. Wasilewski's header went over. Lokeren threatened Proto with a free kick of Leko.

After 30 minutes of play, Persoons pulled down Boussoufa just outside the box. Since Persoons was the last defender, he was shown a red card. The following free kick went over. Polak had the last chance of the first half.

The second half was a lot worse. Anderlecht couldn't find the answer on Lokeren's solid defence and quickly switched playing with long balls. The pace disappeared from the game, resulting in many bad passes. At the end, Boussoufa, Legear and Suarez had a few good chances to score after all, but they missed. Proto had to save Anderlecht on efforts of Mokulu and Taravel. The scoreless draw remained on the scoreboard.
