Anderlecht played a strong game yesterday against leader Racing Genk. The Mauves won and took over the lead. Veselinovic, for the first time in the starting line-up, scored the first goal. Lukaku the second.

Anderlecht started strong and put pressure on Genk. After five minutes, Matoukou was already forced into an error and Veselinovic scored with a header. Not much later, Lukaku headed a center of Legear on the upright. Legear himself also had an effort on goal soon after.

Genk restored balance halfway the first half. Vossen and Buffel forced Proto to make two important saves.

The second half wasn't different. Anderlecht was in command and created many chances. Several dangerous centers, barely missed reaching the strikers. Lukaku had a good effort though, but Pudil stopped his effort on the line. A bit later, he showed up in front of Courtois who saved.

Twelve minutes before the end, it was over for Genk. On a corner kick, Lukaku headed the 2-0 in, via the post. In the last second of the match, Barda hit the post himself, but the score remained 2-0.
