Anderlecht defeated KV Mechelen yesterday with 3-1. The Mauves played better than last week, although the passing and pace weren't perfect yet. Kljestan, Suarez and Lukaku scored for Anderlecht.

KV Mechelen clearly came with defending the nill in their minds. Anderlecht had difficulties finding an opening in the visiting defence. The best chance was for De Sutter with a header on the crossbar. But also Mechelen tested Proto via Wilmet.

When Canesin was brought down in the box by Panza, the ball went on the penalty spot. Kljestan scored the 1-0. Lukaku failed to double the lead before the break.

In the second half, Mechelen quickly equalised via Destorme. Anderlecht woke up from their siesta and created danger via Suarez and especially Canesin Matos. The young Brazilian was again brought down in the box, but the referee hesitated to gave another penalty.

Eventually Suarez brought his team ahead again with a shot from 25 meters: 2-1. Lukaku decided the game by scoring his second of the season.
