Anderlecht crushed Standard de Liège today with 5-0. Ex-Standard players Jovanovic and Mbokani both scored, just as Wasileski who broke his leg in a game against Standard a few years ago. Suarez and Gillet scored the other two.

Standard came to Anderlecht to win and showed their ambitions early in the game with a lot of ball possession and a few small chances. Anderlecht needed some time to kick into action. After about ten minutes of play, the home side got its first chance and also its first goal: Suarez dribbled through the Standard defence, centered and Jovanovic headed the ball against the net: 1-0.

The visitors were lucky not to take a second goal before the break: Mbokani placed the ball over goalkeeper Bolat into the goal. Ciman slid the ball out, behind the line. Though the linesman hadn't seen it and let the match continue...

Justice came in the second half. After a header of Gillet (2-0), Mbokani was sent through the visiting defence and beat Bolat with a great ball: 3-0.
Suarez scored the fourth goal and Wasilewski put the 5-0 on the scoreboard from the penalty spot.
