Anderlecht easily defeated Sturm Graz tonight in the Europa League and remains first with 9 points out of three games. The Mauves need one more point to qualify. Though winning the group should also be possible now.

Anderlecht clearly controlled the game, but the last pass almost never arrived during the first half. There were a few small chances and Suarez claimed a penalty, which he didn't get.

Graz couldn't create many chances. Proto was, besides a difficult phase in front of the goal, never threatened by the Austrians.

The second half was a copy of the first: a superior Anderlecht and Graz trying to counter attack. The only difference was the efficiency. This time, Anderlecht did create chances and did score.

A first goal of Mbokani was denied by the referee because of offside. But just a few minutes later, Gillet opened the score. Jovanovic was hindered in the box, but Gillet had followed well and scored the rebound.

When Burgstaller got red, the game was over. Graz limited themselves to damage control and Anderlecht conservated their energy. The Mauves doubled the lead though when Suarez dribbled past the goalie and placed the ball into the empty goal: 0-2.

In the end Canesin scored the rebound after an effort of De Sutter, but the young Brazilian was caught offside.
