After an easy game, RSC Anderlecht beat AEK Athens with a 1-2 score. Anderlecht has to thank Guillaume Gillet for the two goals. The Mauves still have the maximum of the points and are close to winning the group.

Anderlecht opened the score after just four minutes. Gillet scored after a nice attack in which the home defence was completely played out.

The visitors relaxed and took a good halfway the fist half. This led to a response from the Mauves. Before the break, Gillet brought Anderlecht ahead again.

The second half was completely redundant. Anderlecht controlled but escaped a few times when especially Leonardo created some chances. On the other side, De Sutter's effort struck the post.
