Anderlecht suffered a defeat yesterday against Mechelen. The Mauves got defeated by 2-1. Anderlecht played a bad game and couldn't create many chances. Thus the defeat was logical. AA Gent can now come next to RSCA in the ranking.

Anderlecht started the game with high pace and some chances. The best one was for De Sutter but his effort struck the inside of the post and the ball fell back into the hands of the goalie.

Mechelen restored the balance and created chances themselves. Destorme scored a great goal when his shot went over Proto into the goal.

Anderlecht tried to respond with pressure on the home defense. But the Mauves had to be cautious for counter attacks. When Suarez dribbled past the Mechelen defenders in the box, he scored by placing the ball in the right corner.

Anderlecht went for the three points but was caught off guard on a counter attack: Cordaro scored. Not much later, De Sutter missed an open effort to equalize again. The game slowly bled to dead and ended in a defeat...
