Anderlecht to overpower Genk

Anderlecht now also defeated current champions Racing Genk. The Mauves won with 4-2 in a pleasant game with several great goals. Anderlecht now awaits a game against Standard and seems ready for it.


Mbokani missed a first fantastic opportunity after just a few minutes of play. Genk reacted well and scored after the first chance. Benteke curled the ball around Proto into the goal from just inside the box.

The home side responded immediately. Suarez scored with a fantastic volley from a distance of 25 meters.
Anderlecht kept on pushing forward and created multiple chances via Jovanovic, Suarez and Mbokani. Genk now and then counter attacked, but didn't really pose a problem to a strong Anderlecht.

Kljestan brought the home team ahead with a great free kick. From a serious distance, he placed the ball past Bailly.

The second half remained exciting. RSCA kept looking for another goal, but Suarez and Biglia kept missing chances. Eventually, Mbokani scored the 3-1 after a well played out attack.

Barda brought the visitors back into the game a few minutes later with a header. But a strong Anderlecht scored close to the end via again Mbokani. Suarez missed the 5-2 in the last minute of the match.
