Anderlecht easily defeated Cercle Brugge today with 4-0. The home side dominated from start to finish, but could only break down the visiting defence in the second half. Gillet, Mbokani twice and Kabangu scored the goals.


Anderlecht immediately forced Cercle into defence. It created a huge amount of chances, but goalkeeper Coppens wasn't defeated in the first half. The Mauves not always found the most simple solution and Jovanovic even missed in front of an empty goal... Also the referee didn't help: Mbokani was brought down in the box, but the referee didn't give a penalty. What about Cercle? They didn't even create one single chance. Most of the time, they quickly lost the ball and had to defend as a team to keep the nill on the scoreboard...

The second half started like the first one ended. Anderlecht pushing forward, creating chances, but the ball just didn't want to go in... Until Jovanvic was brought down in the box: penalty - scored by Gillet, in two times.

Not much later Anderlecht got another penalty. Suarez reacted quicker than the visiting defence and was stopped with a foul. Mbokani calmly doubled the lead. Two minutes later, that same Mbokani scored his second. Jovanovic opened for Suarez who broke through the defence. He centered and the Congolese striker pushed the ball in by the second post. Kabangu put the final result on the board when he scored on a rebound.
