Anderlecht lost its first home match against RC Genk in the play-offs. Genk scored three goals, while Anderlecht only made one. Anderlecht started with the same players as against Ghent and went into the offensive right away.

Kanu saw his header go against the crossbar after a good dribble from Mbokani. A bit later Genk-goalkeeper Köteles made a good save on a dangerous shot from Kabangu.

But it wasn’t Anderlecht that scored the first goal, Benteke scored the first goal after an action from De Bruyne. The Mauves received another chance from a free kick taken by Wasilewski. But it was ex-Anderlecht-player Vanden Borre who made another goal and the score at half-time was 0-2.

Jacobs substituted Kabangu and Kljestan for Jovanovic and Gillet. Mbokani made it 1-2 after a cross of Suarez. Anderlecht tried to equalize, but it was Vossen who scored and it was 1-3. Anderlecht received a penalty after a tackle on Suarez, but Jovanovic missed the penalty.

Club Bruges won with 1-0 and is one point behind Anderlecht. Next week Anderlecht will visit Bruges for a very important match in the race for the title.
