RSC Anderlecht have lost with 1-0 today on the field of Benfica Lisbon. Zahovic scored the only goal of the game, after 13 minutes.


Anderlecht started the match good. They had a few good chances in the beginning, through Wilhelmsson and Lovre. But the Mauves also had some defensive problems. After 13 minutes, this resulted in a goal for Benfica. Zahovic scored with a great shot.

Benfica was the better team in the first half, but they didn't have many chances. Anderlecht showed some good counters, but they weren't sharp enough.

In the second half, the Portugese team only thought about defending their lead. Wilhelmsson made some very good actions, but Mpenza wasn't able to score. The Mauves kept searching for the equaliser, but in vain. Also Benfica didn't score, though they had a good opportunity in the 89th minute.

Finally, the result was 1-0 for the Portugese team. The second match certainly will be very exciting...
