Anderlecht won their first trophy of the season. The Mauves were too strong for Lokeren in the Supercup yesterday. The game ended on 3-2 and still showed defensive weaknesses.

Anderlecht started without Suarez, Kouyate and Juhasz due to injuries and the upcoming Olympics. Wasilewski and Deschacht formed the heart of the defence while Safari and Odoi took place on the left and right back. On the midfield, Kanu and Praet were in the starting line-up. Biglia is the sole defensive midfielder now while Gillet and Jovanovic played on the wings. Mbokani still is Anderlecht's striker.

The game knew a slow first half with just a few chances. Praet scored the opening goal half way the first 45 minutes when a deflected ball fell in front of him in the box. He places it nicely in the bottom left corner of the goal. Lokeren didn't really have a lot of opportunities, so the 1-0 score at half time was logical.

The second half started well with Mbokani heading Anderlecht on a safe 2-0 lead. But just a few minutes later, defensive weaknesses allowed Leko to score twice and thus bringing the game level again.

Lokeren even became the better for several minutes and the home side was forced backwards. This time, the defence and goalkeeper Proto survived the storm. Anderlecht slowly gained control again and Gillet scored the winning goal after a nice action. Later on, Mbokani almost scored his second of the evening, but the post stood in his way.
